Rick Love

    Associate Director of Athletics Rick Love is in his 12th year with the department and his ninth in his current position.
    Love, oversees the External Operations areas of the department – marketing and promotions, ticket office operations and sports information department. Since 2005-06, Love has handled the senior administrative duties overseeing the men’s basketball program.
    He came to Youngstown State in 1997 as the Director of Marketing and Promotions before being elevated to his current position in the fall of 2000.
    Prior to joining the YSU staff, Love spent five years at Cleveland State University. In his tenure with the Vikings he served three years as the Sports Information Director (1992-95) and two as the Assistant A.D. for Communications and Marketing (1995-97). At CSU, he was responsible for the marketing and publicity for the athletic department and helped negotiate radio and television contracts.
    Before moving into Division I athletics, Love held media relations positions with the World Basketball League, the Youngstown Pride and Gannon University athletics.
    He earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from YSU in 1987 and his master’s in sports administration from Ohio in 1988.
    Rick and his wife, Lisa, have a son, Ryan, and a daughter, Brianna.
