Penguins Finish Eighth as Santisi Cracks Top-10 at Flyer Invite
Kettering, Ohio -- The Youngstown State men's golf team concluded their fall season with an eighth-place finish at the 36-hole Dayton Flyer Invitational at NCR Country Club on Tuesday.
Sophomore Joe Santisi led the way for the Penguins, shooting a 150 (78-72) to finish in 10th place. The team carded a two-round total of 614 (312-302) to tie with league member Wright State. Out of the five fall events for the team, it was the third time this season the Penguins finished in eighth place at an event.
Senior Tim Morrow finished in 24th, only two strokes off of Santi's pace with a 152 (77-75). Sophomores Anthony Conn and Michael Lower tied for 53rd, shooting 158. Conn's scorecard read 80-78, while Lower's was 81-77.
Senior Ryan Stocke rounded out the competitors for the Penguins as he tied for 65th after firing a 160 (77-83).
Ball State captured the team title, while Toledo finished runner-up, with Bowling Green rounding out the top- three at the event.
With the conclusion of this event, the Penguins will not officially return to action until the spring season. The spring schedule will be announced in the near future.
