Women's Golf Wraps Up Fall Season at MAC Preview

Fishers, Ind. -- The Youngstown State women's golf team concluded their fall season on Tuesday afternoon with a 13th-place finish at the Duramed MAC Preview at Hawthorns Golf and Country Club.

The Penguins finished the 54-hole tournament with a score of 984 (324-327-33). Ball State captured the team title with a 933, finishing two strokes in front of Eastern Michigan. Bradley's Breanne Neufeld took medalist honors with a three-round total of 223.

Leading the way for YSU was sophomore Samantha Formeck, who tied for 25th with a total of 238 (82-79-77).

Junior Katie Rogner fired a three-round total of 240 (76-82-82) to tie for 32nd. Senior Ann Ciavarella fired an 83 in all three rounds to tie for 60th with a 249. Fellow senior Brittany Stillwagon finished in 77th, shooting a 257 (83-83-91).

The Penguins will take a brief hiatus through the winter and will return to action in the spring where they will look to defend their 2009 Horizon League Championship title.
