Wright State Topples Soccer, 2-0, at Stambaugh

Youngstown -- Wright State scored twice early in the second half to knock off the Youngstown State soccer team, 2-0, on Friday afternoon at Stambaugh Stadium.

Senior Jordan Gapczynski took the Penguins' lone shot on goal against Wright State on Friday.
The Penguins fall to 3-10-3 overall and 0-6-1 in the Horizon League while Wright State improves to 10-6-2 overall and 5-2 in the league.

 

After a scoreless first half, Wright State's Jen Agueci slipped a shot past YSU goalkeeper Mariah Snyder after a direct kick from Trisha Stevens just three minutes into the stanza.

Megan Bush extended the Raiders' lead to 2-0 at the 61.27 mark of the game.

The Penguins only mustered four shots, two by senior Jordan Gapczynski, and Snyder tallied five saves.

The Penguins close out the regular season hosting Cleveland State, Sunday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m. at Stambaugh Stadium.
