Youngstown -- Milwaukee hit .636 in the first set and held off a frantic Youngstown State rally in the fourth set to defeat the Penguins 25-10, 18-25, 25-16, 25-23 on Saturday at the Beeghly Center.

After Milwaukee led the entire first set, an early 7-0 run gave YSU a 7-3 lead that it would not relinquish. The Penguins led by as many as 10 at 23-13, but a late run by UWM made the final score a bit closer.

The score was tied at 10-10 in the third set before Milwaukee rode an 8-2 run to a 25-16 win, and Milwaukee went on a 10-0 run in the fourth set to go up 19-9. The Panthers led 24-17, and, despite five points on Amanda Gray's serve, they held on for a 25-23 win.

The Penguins will welcome Akron to the Beeghly Center for the first time since 1996 on Tuesday. First serve against the Zips is set for 7 p.m.
